Worth the visit
Lovely staff made our morning with their friendly, helpful attitude. The chairlift is definitely a worthwhile and unique experience and give a great view of Cataract Gorge. There are a number of trails to walk on both sides of the canyon, a swimming pool and bbq areas to enjoy.

We were visiting Launceston from Melbourne, it was a lovely day and we decided to go to Cataract Gorge and ride the chairlift. What a pleasure it was ! It’s such a beautiful spot with a free pool and barbecue area. The chairlift is not the highest or fastest you’ll ever go on but that’s what is so lovely about it. You’re not in a cage, you’re just sitting on a seat in the fresh air. At $13 one way or $16 return it’s a bargain. Easy to go up and walk down if you prefer. Up the top and around the cafe we saw wallabies and peacocks The lady on the desk was so nice. There is also a free bus - the tiger bus, that goes out there from the town centre.…

Beautiful place and worth visiting
We walked around the whole park and rode the chairlift to the other side. Would highly recommend. Then drove around the surrounding areas to get a different view of the gorge.

One Way is a Good Option
We used the chairlift to traverse the Gorge in one direction and then explored the western side of the Gorge (easier walking). The chairlift is basic and is safe, although it is surprising that more modern safety equipment has not been installed. The views over the gorge and water are impressive and it gives you a good appreciation of the impressive size of the gorge. Thanks for your vote.…
