If you haven't been make sure you take 1/2 hour to drop by on your way through. Very tranquil once you are down the stairs, and you may even see the resident possum as your climbing/descending. We had just missed the flowering plants, but still...More

It's a really pretty spot actually. Would be great for a picnic in summer time. The steps would be fine for small children

We took our toddler down at around 6pm. It was dark by then and we were able to feed the possums. We took down 2 mandarins and a banana. It was ample to feed the possums we saw (around 5). They were really friendly. Not...More

This is a great sunken landscape in unique location, set in a sink hole caused by volcanic action- better than the cave garden in town, large assembly of hydrangeas and one possum greeted us on the way down into the hole- three bee hives seen...More

Easy to find, free and open to all. We visited before 9 and had the gardens to ourselves. Splendid and unusual concept.

In addition to the Blue Lake in Mount Gambier we enjoyed our visit here and the walk down into the sinkhole to view the beautiful arrangement of flowering plants and other vegetation on the sides. Surrounding gardens also pleasant.

One of my favourite places to visit in the G. It just gets better every time. A visit at night time is worthwhile as you can hand feed the resident possums, they love grapes and will take them right out of your fingers. Very cute!

I did not visit the Sinkhole this visit but did go to the cafe at the start of it and this is well worth a visit not only for the coffee and other drinks but the great merchandise offered for sale.

Very interesting and well appointed being set in a garden Park which was well maintained. Refreshment was available. Not easy access for partially disabled visitors.

Hello, is this at the same place as the nightly sound and light show?

No, what i think you are talking about is a display on the outside of the building overlooking what the locals call The Cave Gardens. It shows nightly, but is not really a sound and light show, more of a movie clip.

Could you e mail me things to do at Mount Gambier for families with kids. We are planning to visit for a few days with friends and would love to be prepared by the time we get there. Thanks.

Oh and the Beachport Jetty and Paintball skirmish. Awesome fun and adrenaline rush. Lastly there is the fairy penguin lookout and soft cliff faces with hidden caves underground. You'll wish you had more than just a few days... More

I am not sure about that. Perhaps the Mount GambierTourist Information Centre (Lady Nelson Tourist Centre) could help with that.
