I live a few hours drive away and have wanted to see this garden for many years .So glad I have now. It is just lovely - with variety of different foliage types, water features, water birds, artfully placed rocks and gorgeous orange Japanese bridges....More

This is known as the best Japanese garden outside Japan. The garden is located in University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba; about 1.5 hours from Brisbane CBD. There are no trains to Toowoomba from Brisbane. You need to catch a bus from Brisbane.

The Japanese Gardens in Toowoomba is simply one of the most beautiful places to see when visiting Toowoomba. When compared to other Japanese gardens around the world, this is certainly not the largest, but it certainly visually packs a lot into it's mid sized grounds....More

Have visited the gardens a few times over the years. Always as beautiful as the last. So well maintained. Lovely spot for lunch in the park.

This is in the university out side area certainly something worthwhile to see. It was actually plante4d by a Japanese person several years ago and he came back to visit fairly recently

A classic example of a Japanese Garden. The peace and tranquility of the gardens are amazing. The contrasts between the different seasons is absolutely amazing, currently all the amazing autumn leaf colours.

There is no entrance fee for the Japanese garden. There is a donation box but I honestly haven't seen anyone put anything in it for years. Well worth a look.

Dog are permitted within the Japanese Garden, but must be on a leash at all times. The dog owner is also required by using an appropriate scoop and bag to remove any droppings. :)
