There's something magical about loggerhead turtles. They travel the world only to return to a few special places like Mon Repos. This visitor centre attracts 30,000 people a year to see the turtles lay and then hatch. Season runs roughly November to February.

Myself and my mum visited to see the turtles hatching. What an amazing experience! Top tip would be to take a torch, if you have one you can have the baby turtles walk through your legs to the sea- a mobile phone torch is not...More

Incredible experience and an adventure, seeing a turtle come off the beach lay and bury their eggs. Awe inspiring! But you do need patience. The wait can be hours and late into the night. There is a museum and they show a video, but I...More

A must do! Definitely worthwhile, take insect spray, book ahead if you want to go early, or you might have a late night, still cool though.

Being able to go out with the knowledgeable staff and volunteers was incredible. We were able to see 2 clutches our night and guide the little guys to the ocean which was amazing! They are strong little creatures!

They start on 7 and if you are not there in time if you are the first group you may be missed, when I was there people were arriving later on etc, but I would try and be there as close to 7 as possible.

Sorry you have to book via their offices in Bundaberg. It says you can book online but we couldn't get it to work. Great event though you'll love it good luck with turtle arrival times.
