One of the best botanical gardens I know complete with Bert Hinkler's house reconstructed brick by brick from it's original location in The UK. The stream train rides and aviation museum, beautiful gardens, historical museum, the great cafe and Fairymead house make it a must see attraction

We have been to Bundaberg a few times but never to the Botanical Gardens. It was a pleasant surprise! You can visit the Bert Hinkler Museum, Bert's house Mon Repos and Fairymead House on the same ticket but be sure and check the times. Cafe 1928 is good for coffee or lunch. We just wandered along the paths this time... More

Located very close to town these gardens are a nice place to explore for a couple of hours. The main attraction - the lake area could do with a bit of a colour revamp. The place was very green but not particularly colourful. On the day we were there the train wasn't running, Fairymead house wasn't open and the Chinese... More

It appears there is a plan to upgrade the gardens. I just hope colour is part of that plan. In a town, a little drab (sorry) it would be nice to have beauty in colour within the gardens, around the cafe and Harry Hinkler house etc and surrounding the ponds- similar to the gardens around Fairymead house. On my visit... More

It was a great day to relax walking around the gardens and ponds with heaps of water birds, there r a few renovations happening there at the moment and the Chinese garden is closed but it was still worth going to and a nice old homestead at the back was beautiful to visit as well

Great gardens located close to town. Lots of wildlife for young visitors. Lizards, ducks, turtles, eels and birds. Has a train that runs around the gardens. Right next to the Hinkler hall of aviation.

After a relaxing walk with nature the Botanic gardens cafe in Bundaberg is a great place to stop. We had a coffee with cake, very well presented with polite efficient staff all were very friendly and welcoming. We recommend a visit very highly to sit among nature with a cuppa.

Plan to stop here if you're passing through Bundy. It's a cool respite, with a lovely cafe and a little train (on Sundays) to keep the kids amused. And ducks.

The area is expansive and has a few paid attractions to complement the free gardens and water ways walk. Great being able to walk out on the water and see the wildlife. Though some of the bird numbers are causing damage to trees and the facilities. The Chinese and Japanese gardens are closed, looks like they are getting a major... More
