Our Aussie friends recommended this, and they were sooo right! The views were amazing. We saw porpoises playing in the surf. A local whale watcher was there; he said there had been whales there every day recently.... just not during our visit. So that’s an...More

Take time to read the many plaques around the area for history. Then take a walk along the beach. It is leash free from Watonga rocks ,lighthouse beach is one of the better dog beaches in the area.

We went here a number of times to see if we could see some migrating whales, we did see a couple on the first day, but none afterwards. Apparently we were a month too early, according to the whale watcher who is there most days...More

Perched on a hill with sweeping views over Lighthouse beach one way and cliffs the other. Beautifully painted bright blue and white. The remains of an original house down the stairs and surfing dolphins at sea.

Walk or drive to get here - once you're here you're rewarded with a really wide view. The lighthouse itself is standard but the area around it is spectacular. Walk down to the cove, and beyond that, and discover hidden nooks for sitting, picnic, solitude.

Its only a short drive out of Port Macquarie and offers some great views. The information boards provide a good summary of the history of the area, in particular the life of a light house keeper.

Great views from the lighthouse. And we were told that time you trip correctly and you could see some of the Whale migration. But the views alone are worth the visit. Good story of the lighthouse keepers cottage there too.
