Having heard about the Port Macquarie Light House, we thought we'd take a look. And we were glad we did. Spectacular views up and down the coast are a photographers dream. Sunrise would be an amazing sight. Parking is a bit limited and the walk up to the actual Light House is not recommended for those who are elderly or... More

Wow - amazing and captivating views even on a cloudy day. Amazing view all round with vistas of rocks, rainforest and beaches. The information boards were full of interesting information about the history of the place. The foundations of the original lighthouse keepers quarters are there as well. Whale watching spot during the winter and the Little Beach down the... More

Would have loved to have got closer but we had a trailer so was unable to park it. Love a grand vista.

This is a good spot for a lookout and a wander around the rocks but it won't take long. Go early to get a park.

Great running from Port Mac town beach to Tacking Point Lighthouse and back, roughly 14kms and pretty hilly but well worth the amazing views from the lighthouse! I've been here on the most beautiful, hot summers day and on a stormy, windy and wet day, both equally as amazing! Worth the run/walk/drive😊

Beautiful and scenic beach though parking is very limited and gets crowded at times. Light house is unique.

This beautiful little lighthouse is perched high on a rocky headland so definitely was windy on the afternoon we visited! Lots of signs around the headland documenting the history of the lighthouse and also information about the whales which migrate past this headland each year. Definitely worth a visit to see the lighthouse. You can then take the walkway down... More

Part of an afternoon exploring we visited the Lighthouse. Very easy walk from the car, only a handful of stairs and several seats nearby. Very windy and one of our kids lost a hat over the cliff side but ahhh such is life.

Definitely worth while visiting. You can drive, stop & take photos & have a really good look around. If you're lucky enough to be there in June. You might get a chance to see the whales going pass. It's got plenty of parking spot. You can also do a walk up to the light house. It can be windy at... More
