Janet ... the lovely sales attendant at the Small Winemakers Centre is worth her wait in gold (well, maybe after she has the twins). Providing great knowledge, patience and all round good grace in helping compile a suitable set of mixed wines for client gifts, Janet, is certainly an added jewel in the crown here. With a choice of quality... More

I did not like this venue for several reasons- 1) the lady serving us was bored, uninterested and not at all passionate about the wines. This is the problem with wines being presented by other than the estate 2) the wines were being dispensed out of a machine with a lock mechanism away from the serving counter - meaning the... More

The Small Winemakers Centre was a pleasant experience when we visited. I was in a group of three. We had decided to only go to the smaller less known winemakers. Very welcoming staff. There was a large variety of wines to taste. Their cabinet to maintain the freshness of the wine was a surprise. The red wine range was exceptional.... More

We had actually stopped off to go to Tempus Two and while it was ok, we were not going to stick around for an hour so we ventured up the hill to the Small Winemakers Center - thank goodness we did! Excellent and knowledgeable service. Flexible in working with various palettes and didn't rush us along. Seating area provided and... More

Has a great atmosphere but best thing is you get to try wines from many winemakers (not just the individual vineyards)! Ask for the lesser known but highly rated wines - you'll be pleasantly surprised. Great if you are stretched for time.

We stumbled upon The Small Winemakers Centre due to a recommendation for lunch at Epicure. Miriam looked after us well, explaining the purpose of the Centre and giving us all the details about the individual winemakers represented. We also purchased some lovely Silkman wines.

As far as places to visit it's no better or worse than the others. It's the wines that make the difference. If you have confidence in your palate you'll select wines here over those that have "brand" value and a hefty price to reassure you of their quality. For between $20 and $50 the selection of wines that I bought... More

First visit yesterday and we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, personal service and the obvious passion that Robert has for the wines and the region. He quickly worked out what would suit us and we thoroughly enjoyed all that we tasted. Bought a mixed dozen and signed up for the club to get wines during the year.
