We stayed locally and ate locally and loved the beautiful weather and the easy walks along the beach
It’s going to look great when they finish the development
A pity the baths are under repair at this time of year
We will return again though it’s been great

We had a lovely stroll from the free parking at the edge of the beach over to the pavillion and kiosk and ordered the whiting tacos, and the haloumi tacos and they were both reasonable price of $13 and very filling and excellent tasting.

Enjoyed the rock pools at the northern end of the beach. Not much parking or cafes around, but otherwise good

After walking from the end of the Light Rail , it was pleasant to sit down and savour the scene.
Pleasant scene; crashing waves.
Volleyball playing by some.

What’s not to like?
It’s close to & easily accessible from the CBD.
There’s free car parking.
There’s a cafe on the beach, plus more across the road & restaurants nearby.
There’s a large ocean pool if the surf is not your preference,
It’s close to some tourist attractions.
And the surf is pretty good too...

Newcastle Beach is so very easily accessible from the CBD and within walking distance. There is a lovely walking path all the way along Newcastle Beach to Nobby's Beach. Plenty of free parking available. There are also ocean pools to swim in. Lots of surfers and we even saw dolphins swimming by - amazing! Definitely a must see if you are visiting Newcastle.

A great spot for surfers in Newcastle. The beach is patrolled by professional and volunteer lifeguards in the summer. The kids wading pool with its now sand covered map of the world is at its Northern end.

The beach has bathing amenities on it, free parking nearby, cafes and restaurants right there. Excellent surf on the days I was there
