Good beach for a swim

Great beach for a swim, never any surfers. A nice cafe for some hot chips or a cold drink. Very family oriented and plenty of parking

This is the best swimming beach in Newcastle as it is patrolled and the surf is rarely too rough. Lots of space and parking

Good for a walk. Beach has a lot of rips & weed because of its location & reef. Still. A nice beach with a big park for bbq's.

I took a stroll along this beach all the way to the lighthouse and back. It was really quite windy but it was a sunny day. The beach seemed clean and the sand was really soft. Lots of windsurfers so the water was a bit busy. There are taps around the entry of the beach to wash the sand off.

I live super-close to here, about a 10-minute drive, and it is seriously the best summer destination. Always great surf, super sunny and there are nice walks nearby. The cafes aroudn the area are good too. Nobby's doesn't seem to get too busy either, which is a real bonus. Great beach :)

Bit of a find to be honest. Lovely clean sand & good waves. Easy parking compared with Sydney! Worth a visit

This is a lovely Newcastle beach, very clean sand, and quite a good surf beach. Was a bit busy the day we visited, but there was still ample parking. As good as any Sydney beaches.

There's not much protection from the wind as the beach is exposed from a number of directions. Large waves for those that like them. Beach is clean and well maintained. There's plenty of parking with great views of the lighthouse. For those who would like a walk before or after a swim a walk up to the lighthouse is well... More

Traveling through Newcastle we had a day to spare and spent it on Nobbys Beach. Beautifully clean with a lifeguard present, it has a nice shop with well priced tasty food.

We run a window cleaning business in Newcastle area and often choose nobbys beach for our lunch stop due to its beauty as well as toilets and fresh breezes. We often see dolphins there as well as whales passing by at certain times of the year. It's a great beach to swim at as well with lifeguards on duty most... More
