It’s beautiful up there, but, IF YOU CAN’T BOOK HUTS OR CAMPSITES, there is an awesome alternative: the Rees-Dart loop. Ask at DOC; they won’t volunteer the information.

This is a great hike for keen hikers or trampers. Allow enough time to go all the way to the summit hut.

I can't speak highly enough of the whole experience. The scenery was incredible, the guides wonderful, the meals were restaurant quality. Met really interesting people. A must do.

This tramp is challenging but beautiful capturing various landscapes such as beech forest, alpine ridges, wetlands and lakefront beaches. The huts are well equipped with ample cooking facillities and interesting side excursions such as caving and waterfalls. The biodiversity is very unique with several rare...More

Would definitely use this service again. Very easy and was handy having our own car waiting at the end.

Two families with teenagers, staying in DOC huts. Beautiful and diverse, the walk is a good challenge. Huts excellent. We used Trackhopper to relocate our cars - excellent service. Looking for our next Great Walk now.

My wife and I spent several nights backpacking the Routeburn track and loved it. Definitely one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever backpacked, great biodiversity, and challenging yet doable. Quick tips: bring lots of layers (temps vary), make sure you have a warm enough...More
