I thought this monster was a large Emu!! A great statue it was quite popular a great photo subject! it’s in a picturesque part of Queenstown but hey that’s everywhere!

It is a nice statue in its self and fits in with the New Zealand culture and history. If I blinked I would have missed it and nearly did miss it. Same colour as the trees around it.

a neat statue, its tall and dramatic to look at, it was easy to walk to/ go past and see as part of a quick walk around Queenstown

Had an amazing stay here in QT.. People are the most friendly I have met yet in New Zealand. The views and scenery everywhere is just spectacular. Lovely walks with cafes and bars along the waters edge and of course the Moa statue.

You have to get a photo with the Moa to see how huge they were- make the Emu and Ostrich look like chooks

This is just a normal statue of the NZ extinct bird, you don’t need to come down for it on a special purpose. You can just have a look at it when you come close to the shopping centre or to do some water sports...More

Moa is an extinct bird of NZ. The statue is about the same size of real Moa. It is related to kiwi genetically. The statue is near the wharf.
