We were unsure about going because our hotel concierge had told us there was no guarantee we would see a kiwi. But when we arrived the sign indicated that seeing one was guaranteed if we attended a feeding. We went in and saw two fossicking around before feeding, then enjoyed the feeding "demonstration" with the keeper Sophie. It was very... More

This is a lovely place to add to your itinerary. It was easy to get to, we didn't buy tickets in advance and it wasn't an issue getting in. The grounds are lovely and it's a really nice walk around. The audio tour was good too. Seeing the kiwi's was terrific, they are funny birds and much bigger than you... More

We went here to see a Kiwi and were not disappointed. We viewed a feeding around noon in the Kiwi house and one was up and about to receive its meal. A very remarkable bird! The show they run throughout the day was also very enjoyable with trained birds and animals. A small park, but worth a visit.

If you don't know this already, it's very difficult to spot kiwis in the wild. The Kiwi Birdlife Park allowed us to get up close and personal with this amazing bird in a setting that didn't feel like a tourist trap. We stopped in with only an hour before closing time and still had a chance to watch the bird... More

You ca learn a lot about local birds. It is a nice stroll in a beautiful park. Watch the show about the birds and join the Maori for a haka

We enjoyed the Kiwi park after hiking the tiki trail and riding the gondola down the mountain. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable - this was the first time for us to see a kiwi and they are so sweet!! We also enjoyed the live show - very informative! Thanks for a great visit.

This was our second visit. The first, 5 years ago was good and affordable. This time over $100 for a family of four. The audio tour was OK for adults but not entertaining for the kids (mine are 7 & 4) and a walk around the park only takes about 30mins. The conservation show was good with birds in light... More

We stumbled upon the Kiwi Birdlife Park on our way to the Skyline gondola and decided to check it out. We arrived just in time for a very upclose and personal introduction to New Zealand birdlife, provided by the staff at the park. This entertaining 15-20 minute show featured various birds with flight demonstrations and gave visitors a close up... More

Unless it's very good you won't see much of the kiwis. The are nocturnal and their enclosure is kept very dark. This is a very expensive admission for not a. whole lot to see.

Yes, the first thing many reviews mention is the cost. But I walked away feeling my money was well spent. Not only is this a nice aviary zoo, but the money goes to the conservation and protection of some very rare bird species. It's an admission fee and a charitable donation all in one. I spent a little over 2... More
