Beautiful setting, clearly an established winery that produces magnificent wines. Regrettably the customer service in the tasting room was average with a bare minimum of communication. It's a shame as it has put us off going back there. Went down the road to Chard Farm and had a much better experience

The Cheesery was really cool and they had some great cheeses to sample. We got a cheese board and it was a great value - lots of food for the price. The wine was the opposite. It was good, but nothing stood out. Didn't get much wine either for the price. Really makes you appreciate the places that give out... More

We took a beautiful tour of this winery and thought that it was really wonderful. We tasted three different wines at the end and had a chance to eat some local foods in the cafe/store at the end.

A short distance from Queenstown....any journey in the area is going to be a beautiful trip...and you arrive at Gibbston. Lunch was served in the delightful courtyard by charming staff. A warm spring day certainly helped. We had the sharing platter. Absolutely delicious. Queenstown eating is generally overpriced but not here. Excellent value.

We had a tasting of 4 different wines to start. Pinot gris, reisling, pinot noir and a rose. All lovely. Lunch was provided with a small glass of wine. You can buy a 4 comparison tasty for 20 $. It was good value. The tour around the caves was good which finished with another 4 glass taster. Having been on... More

A tour of the vineyard is a must during your time in the Queenstown area. The wine cave is enormous and the vine fields seem endless. We had a good time tasting the different grapes and settled for a couple of bottles of School House Pinot Noir. The history of the winery is informative and the staff are both knowledgeable... More

We went with great expectation of the winery tour hoping to see how wine is made. We were shown grape trees which are used to make various types of wine. Followed by we went into a cave where barrels of wines were stored for years. Followed by wine testing of few different wines with cheese.

We took Canadian friends to have lunch at Gibbston Valley restaurant. The staff were very pleasant and the food was tasty but to be charged $8 for an extra 4 thin slices of ciabatta bread when they offered it to us but did not mention the cost, was a total rip-off. Our Canadian friends were appalled! Another case of NZ... More

We did a wine tasting, my favourite was the desert wine which is well explained on the menu as a late season pick. Which makes the grapes sweeter to bring out the sweet flavour. Amazing range of Pinot Noir wines
