It's a bumpy and slow road out there but worth it for the fantastic 360 degree views of mountains while attempting to swim in the ice cold water of this lake. It's great for picnics and families, paddling, bushwalks and horse riding is nearby. There are some outdoor toilet facilities which are well used and maintained in a reasonable state.... More

The reality is that the main lake is soooo beautiful that it want really worth the time or effort to go to Moke, it's just an inland smallish lake with nothing special about it.

On a beautiful mid-December day, we hiked around the lake and it was just lovely. Very well maintained paths, easy hiking and hardly anyone around. A great morning out. Had a chat with the fellow who looks after the campsite and he does a great job there - would defintiely come out and camp here in the future.

Have visited the lake to fish and go horseback riding. Very beautiful place just outside of Queenstown. In winter there is a lot of snow and in the summer you can swim in the lake.

We went here to kayak with Rippled Earth Tours and it was just stunning. Beautifully sheltered with fabulous views we had a great morning here with Sam telling us so much about it all.

We were told about this spot by the lovely lady at the information center. Definitey worth the trip out - and we followed her advice and took a picnic out with us.

This stunning little lake is on farm land just out of Queenstown. Certainty worth a trip out there to do a walk around the lake and admire the stunning scenery. And beautiful place if you are looking for a place to camp the night.

I arrives around 8am. the place is very nice. without winds, the lake reflection makes very beautiful. Also, on the way to Moke Lake, there is 10 minutes gravy road. However, it is very nice with mountains, sheeps and greens. Worth to go to look at it.

Thanks to tripadvisor we took a short drive to Moke Lake and have been back 3 times since on this visit to Queenstown. We love walking and have really enjoyed the paths around the lake. If we were in a campervan (which we have been many times) this would be a great place to stay. Lovely private areas and clean... More

Moke Lake is something you must see if you come to visit Queenstown. About a 15-20 drive from Queenstown towards Glenorchy. Have been here a few times since I have lived in town and it doesn't get boring. Great for a nice walk around the lake which takes a few hours or if you like biking it is also great... More
