Fat Tyre Adventures - Testimonial In February 2016 my riding group (mid 40s, inflated sense of ability) pulled the trigger on a mountain bike trip to New Zealand. End of November was our "window". 7 of us were committed. Some research was rapidly undertaken, and with the proviso from one of us "I want to get a helicopter", and with... More

My husband and I booked a helibike trip in April and had a great time on the ride from Crown Peak to Arrowtown. Greg, our guide picked us up at our hotel and had everything set up for us, with really nice gear and bikes and even changed the brakes to fit the way we are accustomed to in the... More

Having exchanged several emails with Greg regarding the heli-bike ride; outlining our experience, fitness, training and voicing concerns that we may be out of our league, he encouraged us to give it a go. Trip advisor reviews gave Greg great ratings in dealing with a variety of skill levels, so we booked. Immediately upon meeting us everything changed; gruff voice,... More

My friend & I are females in our sixties & were able to do this ride. We had trained at home on our local rocky track ( Lady Carrington Drive) in The Royal National Park. The helicopter ride was spectacular. It was mid April & I was glad that I had worn gloves & thermals. The track itself was rocky... More

Picked up in QT central one minute....half an hour later on top of the world! Greg loaded the GT sensor bikes (new and well maintained- more than a match for our skills and terrain we'd chosen) and Ryan revved up a very flash looking chopper. (5 riders plus Greg capacity). We then followed the contours on the ranges to gain... More

Greg and team did a great job getting 18 excited riders up crown peak and down. With views stretching to mt cook adding to this exceptional experience down from crown peak to arrow town. A great crew who managed different riding capabilities to make an enjoyable ride that all will remember forever. Thanks.

Completed 2 helibike trips. A great way to explore the back country of Queenstown. Knowledgable guides and amazing scenery. If you are after "downhill" tracks this may not be for you but it's great back country riding and still got the brakes smoking.

This was an amazing experience. We were a group of four with a mix of abilities from the beginner to the more experienced. Led by the wonderful Leigh, we rode down from the top of Old woman range. The first 30 mins were pretty cold but then is was fine. You definitely don't have to be a great rider to... More
