About
New Zealand's most scenic brewery and tap room. On the shores of Lake Whakatipu looking up at the mighty Remarkables. We brew beer for the adventurous.

Fab litttle craft brewery with a great selection of locally brewed beers available. Loved that you could get a flight so we could try a few different ones. They also had mulled mead/wine which was great because it was pretty chilly the day we went. The ski chalet decor is very cool, and the vibe is really relaxed and fun. The day we went there was a pizza food truck which was also very tasty. Dog friendly which is great! I would recommend taking the walk along the lake (about 40 mins from the centre). Note there is a bus as well, but it only takes cash.

Randomly found this place as we were cycling around the lake - perfectly timed for late afternoon beers are many hours on the saddle.
Excellent beers (I enjoyed the sour beer) and the best jalepeno poppers we've ever had (we ordered two just in case).
Great location, stunning views, great snack food, groovy layout.
Would happily return.

The spiel says 'New Zealand's raddest little brewery' and have to agree that Altitude has a fair claim! Loved everything about it, from the lakeside location and quirky decor, to the friendly staff serving superb quality craft beers at reasonable prices, through to the delicious street truck food served from out the front. The India Brown Ale was sensational on a chilly lunchtime. Highly recommended, especially if walking or biking the adjacent Queenstown Trail.

My friends and I wanted a craft beer one evening and found the Altitude Brewing bar. The fires in the steel drums, the music and the people milling around made for an excellent evening. The beers were good and easy on the palate.

Went on a Wednesday night and it was packed. It's a fantastic location and the atmosphere was great with people sitting inside and out, with an Italian food truck offering pizzas (and maybe more). I was a little disappointed in the WCIPA they had on tap, but it was still enjoyable. The mulled ginger beer was really nice.

We stopped here for drinks after a 4 mile hike from our hotel in Queenstown, I ordered a flight of 5 beers (See picture). My with enjoyed a glass of Rose.
Nice spot to enjoy a beer with a view of the lake.
Note: Wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet

Bar staff were racist. Patrons were racist. Came with my family. Was looked up and down like we had just broken out of jail. We walked in they looked at us like they’d never seen a Māori. Took forever to get served. Will never return.

Catching up with a few friends who suggested we go here and what a great choice. Was a windy day beside Lake Whakatipu but when the lager came out it was awesome. Perfect for a hot day. Enjoyed it so much we went back again the next day for another pint.

It's my heart stroke because I like mountains and I remember some after ski's bar in Europe.
I like this place for their decor and their beer are very nice.
I follow their advice with the sled dog and I was satisfied.
I take away one mischievous kea and it's was a good choice.
The staff is very friendly as well.
I recommend visiting this brewery when you will be in Queenstown.
It's a must to do.

A typical craft brewery looking place, relaxed and withouth complicating in an industrial/marina part of Queenstown, actually outside the town. Close to the campsite, so we could walk there. Packed full on a December evening. The staff is cool, the selection is decent and the prices are OK. Would definitely frequent it if from teh area.
