We were keen to experience the Sound in an interesting way and Kayaking seemed a great option. For the more adventurous you can choose half and full day tours. We are beginners and opted for the paddle ( about one and half hours in total) + walk along the Milford track ( couple hours). In a group of 8 including... More

We spent the night in the lodge and got an early start in the sunriser classic and it was well worth it. The water in the AM was perfectly still and the views were breath taking. My wife and I agreed it was the highlight of our two week trip. The guides were knowledgable and approachable. It feels like a... More

Took us 2hours to get there from Te anau.... worth every minute!!! They supplied all the gear and plus a very informed guide. We paddled through watching the local pensions that joined us and sea lions. A must do in new Zealand

We did the early morning Sunriser Classic with Rosco's. We had stayed in Te Anau the night before, so we had an early wake-up call to drive to Milford Sound. We drove ourselves - totally doable - in about 1 hour 45 minutes. Once there, they provided all of the gear for what turned out to be a rainy day... More

I chose this place due to the awesome reviews. we got picked up in Te anau, and were taken on a lovely drive in to milford sound. the driver told us a lot about the area, and even stopped for picture places! how awesome is that!!??!?!? we got there, got a safety briefing, got close to wear, and got in... Our group of 7 did the Sunrise trip. Brilliant morning spent with Callum our guide, in 4 double kayaks. Rosco's boat drops us off up the Sound so the first falls we paddled to were Stirling Falls. Being a cold day we didnt paddle under, but got up really close. Callum was very easy to get along with (and did... More

We did the Milford Track Paddle & Walk during our honeymoon in November. We enjoyed our afternoon on the water and track. The track is certainly the focus of this adventure with a three hour stunning return walk. You get about 45 minutes on the water each way. It's a great way to get exposure to the very well maintained... More

We started our kayak at 7am, our Guides, Abby and Monte, were knowledgeable about the Sound and gave us insight regarding the history. The kayaks are in twos so buddy up with a friend or you could make a new one! The Sound can get a bit choppy when you paddle further out, so make sure you pack in motion... More
