My wife and I booked the "day safari" with Rosco's, and what a fantastic day it was. Andrew picked us up at our accomodation in Te Anau, bang on time, and we set of on the 2 hour drive to Milford Sound. Andrew gave us a couple of stops for photos along the way, but did mention that we would... More

I kayak a fair amount and I am always a little leery of commercial sea kayaking excursions that seem to spend 2 hours on land and an hour paddling slowly around a calm bay. Rosco's Milford Kayak tours completely blew that stereotype out of the water. I signed up for the Stirling Sunriser and was not disappointed. I paid the... More

We did the sunriser classic at the end of March and it was even better than I expected (and I had high hopes from all these reviews). I'm so glad we did this instead of a cruise! Our traveling group of six including our parents in their 60's and the kids and spouses in our late 20's/early 30's. Everyone in... More

We did the Stirling Sunriser trip - 5 hours total and involves them power boating you out past Stirling Falls and letting you paddle back to the marina. This involves several hours of paddling, so a good level of fitness is recommended. Our guides, Ben and Abby, were incredible - so fun, friendly and knowledgeable. You are provided warm layers... Absolutely loved kayaking with Rosco's at Milford Sounds. Definitely the best way to see Milford! Guides were all really friendly and we had such a great time. The scenery was breathtaking and seeing a penguin out of season was such a highlight! Would totally recommend, even in the rain :)

We had an excellent time on the Easy Rider kayak session - our guide Mandela was the best! She shared so much knowledge about our surroundings, and was so passionate, considerate and accommodating.

We signed up for a half day kayak with Rosco's. The kayaking was great (two person sea kayak which was really stable), and our guide Montana was incredibly knowledgeable about the history, wildlife and vegetation of Milford, and also knew a lot about the Maori mythology of the area. Or tour got to paddle with a pod of dolphins (which... More

We had the afternoon tour (2 PM - 7 PM), drove ourselves from Te Anau to Milford, the meeting point is easy to find, entrance of Milford, well indicated, parking is just close to the orange tractor, and we met our brillant guide at the small hut (you can usually see people and kayak stuff to find that hut), where... Did the sunriser classic with Ben as our guide - he was so great! Answered all questions and had a lot of knowledge of the region and history. Our group had a wide range of skill levels so we went a bit slow which was actually quite pleasant and nice not to be rushed while still getting to see everything.
