We did the overnight cruise on the Wanderer. The experience far exceeded our expectations in all areas. The ship was beautiful and very comfortable, the rooms excellent and the food FANTASTIC! The staff were friendly, informative snd were very attentive to all the passengers needs. The best however was the opportunity to see Milford sound at a time when it... More

Great overnight stay in Milford Sound! Took the bus from Queenstown with lots of narration from the driver (remember your morning coffee). Arrived in Milford and hopped on the boat. That afternoon we took a walk on the Milford track, remember long layers and bug spray! Dinner and breakfast were great, Annette and the rest of the team were fantastic... More

The Milford sound was so beautiful. They set you in groups that you came with for seating arrangements on the boat and it was kind of confusing and people sat where they wanted to and made people move from their seats. The scenery was breathtaking. Lots of water falls and almost a two hour boat ride. The bus driver Keith... More

We crossed the road from our hotel to the Real Journeys office where the coach awaited us at 7.15am. Our driver was Iain. He was a great driver who provided just the right amount of commentary and was very clear with his instructions on how much time we had at each location. He also had a very quirky sense of... More

We went on an arranged scenic tour with Real Journeys with buffet lunch. Really enjoyed this, although worried at the start as it had been raining and snowing in the morning. Once seated grabbed the buffet lunch straight away to avoid missing the natural sights. Big queue but there are two ways round the buffet table and you can reach... More

Opt for an afternoon cruise if you are staying in Milford Sound. It appeared to be less busy! Staff were very knowledgable.

Milford sound is a must see for anyone visiting Queenstown. Although the travel time seem daunting, the bus drivers provide valuable information regarding the country and terrain on the drive there and a movie on the way back. The scenery is out of this world and like we've seen before.

What I didn't realise is that there are only a handful of sunny days each YEAR! So those publicity pictures that you see are probably quite an age. However, the rain brings it's own delights - the waterfalls are incredible. The more rain, the more waterfalls and the larger they are - it is staggering when you see some of... More

We went on the Nature Cruise, and chose to travel with Real Journeys by coach from Te Anau. They picked us up from outside our hotel and our driver Dianne ('Curls') was fantastic - friendly, helpful, informative and great fun. The coach trip was brilliant and provided some great stops and really informative commentary. The cruise itself was amazing -... More

The room was larger than I expected. The meals were good. The commentary on our surroundings was very educational. The best part was the opportunity to go out in a kayak and get a close look at the Fiordland Crested Penguins.
