The road is a little steep and winding to the top but it's a fairly comfortable drive. On a clear day, you get a great bird's eye view of the city. Don't forget to stop at the Botanic Gardens along the way.
Amazing place to visit to look over the city and harbour- hopefully its not foggy. Take care on the drive-up there out of North East Valley, the road is very narrow and windy for the 3 or 4 km, but well worth the visit.

We drove up to Signal Hill in the morning. This gives you a great morning light view of the city, the ocean, Otago Harbour and the Peninsula as well as the surrounding countryside. They certainly are stunning panoramic views.
