Found Hocken Library while travelling past - had previously used the online website of Hocken Library so it was a must to visit. Absolutely a great place for family history research and history research for Otago Area. The staff were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable on use of the database systems. Thankyou.

This is a great library for old-school information on the local area and attractions. It is a red only library and the staff are very strict with protocol, however they are always more than happy to help out.

I realise they do not want to hear every detail of every story but they do need to listen enough... More

We went to the library, to the McNab Room especially, to gather genealogy information. Malcolm was the man who helped us extensively by gathering information that we would have found hard/impossible to get elsewhere.

One of Dunedin's great attractions, a collection of NZ's most significant artworks . Literary works of national and international significance, and a dedicated and expert staff who care. Definitely worth a visit, and then many more

Was taken on a tour, and what an amazing place. It has millions [if not zillions] of articles for show and for research.
