My grandson took us over for a visit to his favorite place in the museum-the animal exhibit-which is quite extensive. My husband loved the ship models. We went back for a card holders' night and saw the planetarium show for Christmas. Lots to do at...More

Have always wanted to visit the butterfly house. Glad I did. So many butterflies, just lovely. Attended the Planaterium show also, very relaxing and the guide was very knowledgeable. Overall a lovely Museum to visit to learn or wile away the time.

Glad you had time drop in an see our gorgeous butteflies AND check out one of our planetarium shows - a garunteed recipe to escape the Christmas madness!

The Museum has a rich and classically structured exposition. If you want to know the history and the natural history of the area and New Zealand in the whole, it is worthwhile going.

We highly recommend a visit, we spent a few hours here. We went to see the Maori exhibits (excellent) and then found the extensive Polynesian collection which was also amazing. Thrilling to see the items from Sir Edmund Hillary.

Well worth visiting, each floor was interesting and the live pianist playing made for a very enjoyable time. The Edmund Hillary displays were very interesting and I loved all the animals. We didn’t pay to see the additional exhibits as ran out of energy but...More
