A visit to the Chinese gardens is well worth it even on a grey, wet day. It has a beautiful charm and serenity;.the water and landscaping in harmony. It would be a challenge to walk around with a stroller in some parts but access to much is along smooth flat boardwalks. The tea room is a delightful experience Especially the... More

When we entered we were assured that these gardens were much better than Sydney - what a lie.. Before you enter check out the boundary walls, the place is tiny. Unfortunately the small size is not compensated for in beauty.

My niece and I were in awe of the beauty and splendour of this and lots of photos taken. It was interesting to read of how this all came about.

The Dunedin Chinese Gardens are a short walk from the beautiful Dunedin Railway Station. They were designed in China and incorporate Chinese materials. It is a relaxing, peaceful spot with a huge array of interesting plants, sculptures, buildings etc, including a tearoom, and various water features. Nice Chinese Garden being very peaceful and relaxing and you could spend a couple of hours here. Have visited many Chinese Gardens across the globe and although was nice have visited a number that were better and hence thought the $ 9 admission was a bit steep. Maybe i have just been spoilt. If you are regular visitor the venue... More

We are repeat visitors here. Every time we visit we see new things, the garden is dynamic and the views are ever changing. We participated in moon cake cultural activity which was spectacular. The story is magical and really needs some time to learn. This is gem and adds to Dunedin's Chinese history.

When you are visiting Dunedin, one must make time for the Chinese Garden. A really peaceful and quiet oasis in the central city. We had lunch and green tea after our wander around. You must allow about 2 hours to appreciate the atmosphere in this wonderful place.

Very peaceful and charming garden, well laid out in a tradition style. A work of love and dedication by many in the area working together to build a wonderful garden with a very interesting history section about the local Chinese community.

Chinese gardens in Vancouver Canada very similar to Dunedin. A good explanation of their meanings of why construction is done a certain way. A little cafe with very limited menu. A dress up area for those wanting a great photo opportunity. Spend a bit of quiet time doing puzzles with your friends.
