This statue takes a bit of looking for these days as it remains tucked away behind the ruins of the old city council building. Still well worth reading the information about women's suffrage.

I had a bit of a struggle tracking this down the day prior [incorrectly identified map] and had given up all hope but with the help of an incredibly kind tram driver (David) he delivered me at stop "2.5" [in between stops 2 and 3 so not an official stop] with some excellent directions and before I knew it is... This is a great memorial for what the ladies did to help women get the vote. Everyone should know what they did and how New Zealand showed the world the way forward

This is a very important and nicely presented memorial. It is especially appropriate at this time of the arts festival in Christchurch when Kate Sheppard will be specifically honored.
