One of the interesting areas to visit in the town centre is Victoria Square. We enjoyed viewing monuments here during our recent visit to Christchurch. Here you can view several interesting monuments like the Queen Victoria Statue, Capt. James Cook Statue, the H.L. Bowker Fountain...More

Visited on Tuesday 22nd May. We went for a walk around Victoria Square and found it mostly open. Well worth going to have a look.

Victoria Square is still under restoration so hardly worth a visit unless you're passing. It'll be so long before sites like this will be open again.

Victoria square is entirely blocked off due to restoration works. You can see it’s of it from the tram but that’s it. They anticipate it will be open again at the end of March 18.

When we visited it was blocked of and closed to the public. It was under restoration. You were able to see the Statue of Queen Victoria.

Victoria Square is a small park on the border of the Avon river. It's good for a stroll along the river. However I prefer to walk along Oxford Tce to a place called The Strip.

Peaceful and uncrowded, the current Victoria Square shows on the map as a green non-square park filled with many circles. It is worthy of a stroll, especially if you are walking to or from Victoria Street. While there are statues of Captain Cook and Queen...More

Victoria square is a historic square with seating areas. There is a lot of work being done around it at the moment which takes away from the tranquility it can provide. The old bridge is nice and the river next to it - when this...More

Victoria Square is a picturesque small parkland on the banks of the Avon River. Very tranquil area that is very well maintained. Nice statues of both Capt Cook and Queen Victoria as well as an interesting bridge over the Avon.
