A really good location to go to in your car and have a stroll around, take some fish and chips up to enjoy the views or if you are feeling more energetic park at the bottom of the hills and have a run/walk up to Victoria park. There is a kids playground in the park which is good and some... More

Great walks, dog friendly, pleasant drives to get there and close to city but open air with lots of trees, bush and nature.

Pretty much a wide area of outdoorsy things, with a park, playground, picnic areas, dog park, walking tracks and biking tracks. Some of the walking tracks appear to not be labeled, so if you follow one, be wary that they may intersect with a bike track!

Victoria Park is a city council property on the Port Hills just at the Southern edge of Christchurch City. Not sure about the size of it but it's quite an adventure of a place with lots of interesting places to walks, a playground, an extensive dog park and lovely indigenous plantings. We walked along Harry Ell track yesterday. This track... More

There's a bus that goes there at the beginning of the walks. The walks are very nice and we can pass many hours there. I went to the "Sign of the kiwi" and from there I followed the track along the Crater Rim Walkway from where we have good views of Lyttelton Harbour and the city of Christchurch.

For the best views of Christchurch go up to Victoria Park Walk along the track to The Sign of the Kiwi for a cup of coffee. There is a good playground for the children. Take a picnic and sit and look at the spectacular view.

Great place for a family picnic, and kid friendly as there's a playground and long slide. The walks are beautiful, as are the views. There's also a dog park, so it's pretty much perfect for anyone

A short walk from the last bus stop up Cashmere Hill, is Victoria Park, with its grand view of Ch-ch and its walks, one dedicated to Harry Ell, the chap who opened up the hills to the people of Ch-ch.

Great for mountain biking and walking. MTB trails are rated intermediate and up, but aren't as intimidating as they look! You get a good view of the city if you go through the woods.
