I believe these gardens are run voluntarily (with some council money and assistance) by ex-employees of Edmonds. The pinnacle of their year is the Edmonds Garden Picnic in February, a genteel get-together of lite music, and tiffins (afternoon tea) open to the public. A must!

The Edmonds gardens are a nice place to visit if your near Linwood. Spot and have lunch or just enjoy the amazing flowers, trees and roses.

A beautiful spot with mature trees and during winter you can find monarch butterflies clustering in one of the larger trees in their hundreds.

Would love to see it in spring. We didn't realise it existed until we spotted on a map. So pleased that they have kept it even though the factory has gone. Love the 'sunrise' chairs.

So glad these gardens are still here after the earthquakes. We visited them some years ago, and they are still in good condition, allowing for the intervening upheaval in Christchurch, and also the current drought conditions. They would have been spectacular in their heyday, but...More
