This is a great shore walk from Diamond Harbour to Purau. It's an easy walk of about 1 hour each way. At Purau you have an option to return over the hill instead of along the shore. Can be done with running shoes or short...More

Before Godley House was torn down, this was hands-down the best outing for the weekend. A lovely drive, grand old homestead with cafe and expansive plantings and lawns. Post earthquake the vibe is returning very slowly. Still a nice outing and a walk down to...More

Took ferry across with two preschoolers but had forgotten about the long haul to the cafe/dairy. Great place to visit if you have older children who can walk the distance or have a buggy. Always a treasure to visit.

Went on the ferry from Lyttelton, a steep hill to climb and had good coffee whilst watching the harbour. This was the sunny size of the harbour, beautiful!

It takes sometime to reach this harbour but is worthed: secluded haven with beautiful views over the river, the Lyttleton village and the surrounding forests.

Visited on Wednesday 23rd May. One of the many places to stop and have a look at the harbour whilst driving between Lyttelton and Governor's Bay.

Best to go on a Sunny day if possible. Lovely spot, ferry ride very quick but maybe a bit overpriced. Decent walk to the top where you can have a bit to eat and a bevvy. Great little spot
