Took ferry across with two preschoolers but had forgotten about the long haul to the cafe/dairy. Great place to visit if you have older children who can walk the distance or have a buggy. Always a treasure to visit.

It's so nice to wander around the head of the Lytellton Harbour to Diamond Harbour, where you are beautifully sheltered from the ghastly ChCh easterly wind. A lovely place for lunch in a garden with a view is Godley House. This is a very old...More

Went on the ferry from Lyttelton, a steep hill to climb and had good coffee whilst watching the harbour. This was the sunny size of the harbour, beautiful!

It takes sometime to reach this harbour but is worthed: secluded haven with beautiful views over the river, the Lyttleton village and the surrounding forests.

Visited on Wednesday 23rd May. One of the many places to stop and have a look at the harbour whilst driving between Lyttelton and Governor's Bay.

Best to go on a Sunny day if possible. Lovely spot, ferry ride very quick but maybe a bit overpriced. Decent walk to the top where you can have a bit to eat and a bevvy. Great little spot

Just a 10 minute ferry ride from Lyttelton (and free for NZ Gold Card holders!) Diamond Harbour is a pleasant diversion from the city traffic. Limited food offerings so a picnic might be recommended. There is a pleasant coastal walk to Purau if you have...More

We took this trip on the lack Cat ferry from Lyttleton to Diamond Harbour on a nice warm, sunny day with the intention of having lunch at the cafe upon the hill above the jetty in Diamond Harbour. Lunch was a failure – nothing much...More

It is a steep 20 min walk on a good road surface. Fit oldies ok but if slow or infirm not so easy
