This small river meanders through Christchurch's city center, and while there's a few interesting things to see as you walk along the tree lined walkways, like the river boat punting and the earthquake memorial, I don't think it's worth the effort. I say this because...More

We waited about half an hour to get on the ride from the Boatshed. It’s excellent. The guide delivers a well practiced commentary on the river and the city. The river itself has a very European flavour and many of the plants along the riverbank...More

Just a lovely peaceful, pretty, green space to relax and enjoy nature's beauty. Do this on a punt on through the gardens.

A lovely part of Christchurch to stroll beside - a tranquil place to pass an hour or so. Places to rest along the way and plenty of ducks to watch!

Nice walk along the banks of the river. Very quiet & calm, lots of grassy areas with benches for sitting & watching the river go by.

We were walking along the river where there are steps down to the water. The ducks and huge fish stay close looking for food. What also lurks under the steps are lots of river eels. A couple are quite large. I thought of buying sardines...More
