Travelled on a windy day and we were made aware of the safety precautions in force for the day. The cars travelled slower than usual for safety reasons and we were accompanied on the journey by ballast to keep the cars from swaying in the...More

Worth it for the price, not amazing in terms of length but on a good day the views are beautiful and you can see the ranges off in the distance. Worth a visit.

There's no point to pay for the gondola, there is a nice 45 minutes walking and you are going to see the same views.

It was ok Just like Melbourne & Cairns (just not as high as Cairns!) Pick your time of year to visit due to inclement weather Nice views Rug up if you go outside to view during autumn/winter Something to do with the kids Just ok.

Best views over Christchurch city to the southern alps and the sea, and over Lyttelton harbour. Choose a clear day for great views obviously, and go in the morning if you can to avoid the easterly wind that may come through in the afternoon. A...More

The service Christchurch Gondola operates is very good. Helpful staff, especially when getting in and out for my nan, stopping the gondola to make it easy for her to get in. The views are spectacular whether you're heading up or down in the gondola, but...More

Well worth the ride out from the city centre on the frequent (but slow) local bus service, good visitor centre and cafe at the summit and great views.

Arrived early, no queues and gondola to ourselves. Great views. Friendly helpful staff. Coffee in coffee shop and a walk outside. Chilly so warm clothing needed. The history ride was ok but wouldn't queue for it

Thank you for your enquiry. The Gondola opens at 10am daily, and you would likely need to leave just prior to 11:30am to arrive at the airport by 12pm. 1.5 hours would be plenty of time to spend at the Gondola: the trip... More
