A great place to stop for a few hours if you are flying from Christchurch airport. Will appeal to all ages. We had a ride on a hagglund vehicle , stroked husky dogs, enjoyed a 4D Antarctic film, with a few surprises, and experienced an...More

We've been here several times and always enjoy it. The team ride is a bit forced, but be sure to enjoy the penguins!

Found this museum to be very dated and needed an uplift. Best bit was the 4D show. Fortunately we didn’t have to pay on our visit through my friends staff discounts but there is no chance this is worth the entry fee.

Thanks for the feedback. We are continually looking at ways to engage with the wide variety of visitors we share the Antarctic with. We have a lot of exciting updates on the way so please visit again and be surprised!!

Nice place to visit again. Bit expensive for what it is. Worth the experience. Ride the Hammerlund. Only place in NZ to do that.

Great experience either as a specific destination or as something really interesting to do if you are waiting for a flight. Really well put together and highly recommended. Take the Haglund - just don't sit right at the back!

We had a three hour wait between flights with our two toddlers, so this was a perfect time filler for our family. It was an easy 7 min walk from the airport to the Antarctic Centre and there was plenty to do - pats and...More

A must do while visiting Christchurch, is the International Antarctic Center. It’s open 9-5:30 daily. The 4D Extreme Theatre is fabulous. Be sure to take a Hägglund Ride around the complex. Wow! Prices range from $45-$59 NZ depending on age. Free “Penguin Express” shuttle from...More

This is well worth the time and the price. An amazing, interactive experience suitable for all ages. Very educational but also very entertaining. Right next to the International Airport and just 20 mins from downtown. Two thumbs up

I rang the business there are no resident discounts. I won't be attending for 4x price of a movie when the 2 other museums in Christchurch and the art gallery are free.

They don’t play any videos about Antarctica. But there is a simulation room where they have created the wind speed and temperature as like Antarctica and they will provide special jackets to feel the climate there.
