We've visited several wineries in Marlborough, but none like this one. All the others were busy bustling businesses, with visitors sampling different wines and vintages in vast reception areas, diners filling up on great platters etc. Clos Henri consists of one small and intimate church, transported intact from a neighbouring village, with a single enthusiastic, friendly and very efficient French... This is a beautiful little winery producing French style wines. The little church is the tasting cellar and is staffed by French staff. The wines are very good and this is a great stop to finish off your wine tour day in the Marlborough region.

We spent a lovely hour here with Cecile whose evident enthusiasm shone through. Delicious Wine and lots of interesting anecdotes. Thank you. Worth the effort to find particularly after the rather more mechanised and less personal welcome one receives at the likes of Cloudy Bay.

Really good. Such a cute little chapel as the cellar door. Delicious French cheese and quite cheap. Well worth a visit!'

This was the first winery we visited in the Marlborough region and thankfully a great start. The charismatic and eclectic wine enthusiast, Matt, was so informative and passionate about his wine. He took us through a tasting of French inspired wines and explained the process behind the soil. He then tailored a tour for us through the region, based on... More

Stopped in as it was on the way out of Blenheim. There is a long dirt road to the cellar door but the destination is worth it. It is a stunning sight to see this little church framed so handsomely against the trees in the background. On entering the church there is a lot to see from maps, photos, and... More

Their 'first' wines are the best wines in the area in my view, proving perhaps what has always been known which is that soil and location is much more important than winemaking. Friendly and knowledgeable young French man currently working in the tasting room. Try their bread and cheese platter along with the wines

My friends and I wanted a quick visit before our ferry and found this little gem. My partner and I tried a nice bottle of 2010 Pinot 4 years ago at One Tree Grill in Auckland and always wanted to visit their vineyard. The cellar door is a quaint little old wooden chapel set among the vines which both the... More

This was a fun day out. Food and drink available. Music and horse/buggy rides. Tours through the winery. Well worth joining in the celebrations and dressing up.
