My 13 year old son and I went out with Will as our guide. It was brilliant to spend time with someone so positive, and obviously passionate about what he does. It was great for my son to be educated about local Maori and NZ history, looking after the environment and birdlife, without even realising it! You are a great... More

We decided on the spur of the moment to go on this kayaking trip on the Wairau Lagoon but there was no availability on the evening trip. However they arranged a special one in the afternoon just for the two of us - what service! The birdlife was superb: loads of spoonbills, shags and herons, plus a kingfisher and many... More

From the moment we arrived, we felt confident that we had chosen a safe and professional company to take two novice kayakers out on the river. Mathias gave us an informative briefing and clear demonstration on paddling technique before taking us out for an interesting and enjoyable morning looking at the local wildlife. Our picnic brunch was delicious and we had... My brother and I have always intended to take this trip and finally did so. It was the highlight of my trip to NZ to visit family this year. I will be recommending it to all my friends. Mathias set us up in a double kayak and off we paddled down the river to see all the birds. What a... More

Booked the kayak tour to see royal spoonbills on the Wairau estuary with Will as guide. The best time to fit in with the tides was the following evening, so after a short introductory talk from Will and a quick practice in a double kayak, we were off. We eventually came to where the royal spoonbills were roosting and just... More

We were fortunate with our weather as it was an almost perfect day - not too hot or windy. Our guide, Matias, was excellent. He got us all prepared for the outing with some kayak paddling basics and training. We were a mixed group, some with a lot of experience and some with no kayaking experience. That was not a... More

Yesterday our group of two 60-yr year old couples went on a kayak tour in a wetland area at the mouth of a river connecting to the sea at Blenheim. Wil and Rose are the owners of this small eco touring business. Wil fitted us out in two double sea kayaks - very stable. We paddled down the river about... More

Wonderful tour of the area, including my main interest, seeing birds of New Zealand, as the Royal Spoonbill! 100% comfortable accommodations, lovely location in the wetland in Blenheim. Will and Rose went out of their way to make me comfortable, including picking me up at the bus station!

This was a great experience. We are interested in wildlife, conservation and history and this was right up our street. Will is so knowledgeable and passionate about all three. He guided us around the area stopping to show us anything of interest, old farm machinery, plants, rock formations, shells, great views, etc. Unfortunately the spoonbills weren't to be seen that...
