Took our E bikes for a ride round the loop. It was a beautiful day and the tranquility was heaven. Stopping to view the old wreck. The wetlands were very wet but made the biking all the more fun.

Walk out to see the ship wreck and spot the birds along the way - bring boots or gumboots in Winter as the path gets quite wet.

I had time here for a quick walk. Lots of birds to see on the water treatment ponds. The royal spoon bill chicks were up and flying about as well as lots of grey teal and Canada geese. Well worth it and it's free.

Plenty of board walks for those who are not so sure footed. It's a flat walk and just really interesting.

The Wairau Lagoon walkway is good for an evening stroll or short sunday walk, be prepared to take gum boots as the walkway is usually flooded in one section and walking off the path is quite boggy. Worth the trip and you can see the...More

The Wairau Lagoon walkway is a decent short walk, unfortunately i am more of a hills/mountains person. But it is a good walk, and can be linked with the spoonbill track for a longer walk.

Great walkways. I've done it with a family day out and it was great value. Any ability would enjoy this.
