A super quick walk from the carpark to view the falls. My husband actually waded across the river & made it right to the base of the falls, although I wouldn't recommend this during a rainstorm as the West Coast rivers can rise very quickly & unexpectedly!

A 1 minute walk from car park on the haast pass road. Nothing world beating but beautiful for a 5 minute diversion and selfie with a bit of history.

Everywhere we've been in Oz and NZ we park up, and then have to hike around a kilometre to the attraction. Not here, it's literally 2 minutes walk, and signposted in case you get lost. Not so spectacular falls, but the pebbly river beach is fun to wander over and try to skim pebbles into the fast flowing river. Still... More

Yep that is all it is! Two minutes from the Carpark until your reach the falls. These falls are picturesque and they are many pebble towers made by tourists that are impressive too!

Another set of falls, beautiful but not as picturesque as Thunder Creek or some of the roadside falls (Diana?). The kicker here is more crystal clear water and a wide rocky riverbank in a forested valley. A good lunch spot.

This fall is 5 min walk of the main road. It is well worth seeing after very heavy rainfall. Photographs tend not to give the impression of power but still worth taking.

Stopped here on our way to fox glacier as its along the same highway. We crossed the shallow river and actually went up to the falls and got in the water for some photos! Was absolutely freezing. The rock valley has so many rock towers built by tourists so amazing to see. Worth the 2 minute walk to break up... More

Great for a 5 minute look and a few photos, no long walk required just jump out of your car and there it is! I preferred Roaring Billy and Depot Creek but can't seem to find them on Tripadvisor!
