Wouldn't bother, the history is sort of interesting. But the steps aren't that great and there's not a lot at the top.

Not sure why this has its own trip adviser page, its one hell of a steep set of stairs, but that's about it. Don't go out of your way to see this.

Well Wellington, with all you have to offer this certainly is a stand out point for me. To my measurements, they were the perfect stairs. It has everything! In the morning, it's ideal for the work go-ers, day time for city go-ers and finally a...More

Well to be honest the steps are pretty average but the history behind John Plimmer and his place in Wellingtons history is interesting. Save the data on your memory stick and skip the pic of the steps but make sure u read the plaque to...More

These are normal steps taking you to a higher level. Nothing special and not worth making an effort to see. Great statue at the bottom. You may pass them on the way to the cable car.

I walked past here and nearly missed it as I wasn't expecting to see it on my way to the cable car, but was glad I stopped to check it out and take a picture. It's a really nice statue and interesting history.

Really amazing steps that go up as you walk up them and down when you walk down them. Kiwi ingenuity at its finest.

Agree with others - not sure how this has gotten into the attractions of Wellington. The steps are steps - a way to get from a to b. The statue at the bottom is of some interest if passing but so not worth seeking out...More
