fabulous view is worth the ride

The cable car ride is pretty short but the views at the top are stupendous. The botanical gardens are up there as well as a small cable car museum.

Different from what I remember from some years back. Somewhat run down. Lots of people in the street asking for money which was sad. Closed shops and run down buildings off Cuba St. Some due to recent earthquake which of course can't be helped. A bit disappointed overall

We are proud of our little Cuba St! You have to go on Cuba, at least once! Very charming and a lot of good places to eat. There's a nice food market on Friday night too..

We were disappointed by Cuba Street. There was not much to see for our children ages 7, 10 and 12. The shops were not quaint but rather seemed very touristy.

Funky restaurants, bars and "clubs" along the way with a great selection of different cuisines, styles and prices. Our favorite was "Ombra" - on the corner with Vivian St - see separate review. Although busy with tourists and locals alike, it felt very safe and non threatening. Definitely worth scouring the street for the place to suit your likes -... More

This place comes alive on weekends - starting from Friday 4pm onwards till Sunday midnight. Lot of clubs, restaurants, café, bars around this place. Lot of tourists flock this place to get a feel of local culture. Nice place to hang-out, but, don't mess with strangers or locals.

Really enjoyed my visit here, there are great individual shops with some high street ones amongst the. A really cool second hand book shop was amazing.

I found Cuba street many years ago while visiting Wellington. Since then I always book a hotel that I can walk to the area and discover its hidden treasures. Hubby isn't always as interested as me so that is why I stay within walking distance. Great places to eat and great retro shops and antique shops too. Very easy to... More
