A brilliant job disguising a boring concrete footbridge over the road with clever use of wood, sculptures and paving, and by varying the width it allows all sorts of activities to occur around it. At the seaward end there are good views of the harbour basin - often Dragon Boat racing there on a weekend. And it's a nice walk... More

This bridge links the downtown area of Wellington to the waterfront. A very interesting spot with lots of history and some wonderful views and photo opportunities. The plaques and monuments helped explain the significance of the area

The City to Sea Bridge is like an outdoor exhibition for art lovers. Spend your lunch time there, sit sheltered from the wind, enjoy art and great views of city and sea. The bridge is beautifully created and so easy to visit!

Why build a traditional steel bridge when you can build a work of art, laced with a modern take on traditional Maori carving, interspersed with niches and benches where you can sit and watch the world go by. The bridge serves the practical purpose of linking the Civic Square with the waterfront.

We were not sure at first site whether this bridge had been damaged in the earthquake but found it to be a most interesting and different way to cross the road.

We went here to relax and take some time out to enjoy the awesome views. It was very windy (but that is typical Wellington so no surprises there) but such a great set-up. Really cool.

Loads of great photo opportunities here for the amateur or professional photographer. There are Māori carvings, beautiful metal nikau palm trees and interesting architecture. There is, of course, also a magnificent view of the harbour!

This is a slightly crazy looking bridge over a road by the waterfront. You can see the port, the harbour, and people walking and enjoying themselves at the eating and drinking places. You can sit in the sun, there are some shady bits, and some shelter from the wind; and you can watch for sting rays in the lagoon.
