I’ve always felt well looked after on the Interislander, I’ve had multiple trips on it and my last trip was no exception, always comfortable and enjoyable if it’s a calm crossing but even the rough crossings aren’t too bad. Food on board is quite good but also quite expensive so would suggest you eat before hand or take some snacks on board. If you feel like being pampered spend the extra $89 and use the lounge which includes food and comfortable seating

Fantastic views, take a coat or a jumper, can get a bit chilly out there!
Keep a good lookout for dolphins and seals , we managed to spot both.

The route to car loading was very clearly marked and easy to follow. The views were amazing but the ride was really rough for awhile. It was calm as we came out of port and calm at the end. We had over an hour of large waves and the boat rocking. We were warned once we arrived on the boat that it would be rough waters but by then there isn't much you can do about it. At one point, the bathroom stalls were full and every way I looked someone was vomiting at their seat. If you think there is any chance you might get seasick, you need to take or bring your medications. I'm sure it's not always like that but better safe than sorry!

This was an interesting voyage, lasting about three and a half hours. We had great views of the wild coastline of South Island, and then the whole commercial area that is Wellington Harbour. The ship was comfortable with ample opportunities to buy food etc.

Well polished system to get you all on board as hassle free as possible. It's a lovely 3.5 hour trip from New Zealands' North Island to the South Island. There's the opportunity to go outside and admire the beautiful scenery and have a look for any of the local wildlife. On our journey to Picton, we were lucky enough to see a dolphin nearby.
The cafe and restaurant are fine and the small souvenir shop was good, providing my grandchildren with their NZ gifts.

We heard the forecast and saw that crossings would be cancelled due to the storm warnings and fortunately managed to change our booking for 24 hours earlier. Our crossing was smooth with no hint of the nightmares ahead. Plenty of seats, various food and drink opportunities, the time passed in a flash

What a smashing journey across the sound to Picton. Quite a busy boat, but there were plenty of tables available. The food wasn't really very nice - sausages awful!!
However, the scenery was magnificent and kept us occupied throughout the crossing

We were a little worried after reading some of the reviews but our fears did not materialise. We are used to Ferry Crossings having used the Portsmouth to St Malo service for many years. We could not understand how a ferry company could be as disorganised as some previous reviews indicated.

We crossed on Sunday 28th January on the 06:15 ferry. It was full and left 10 minutes early. Boarding was very well organised(we crossed with a car) and it went very smoothly.

The staff on board were faultless, polite friendly and clearly well trained in customer service.

The coffee in the bar area was amongst the best we have had on such a service.

We arrived in Picton early and the disembarkation was as smooth as the embarkation procedure.

Well done to all the staff/crew involved.
