It's slightly off the beaten track but Wellington is easily walkable (albeit hilly) and Havana Coffee Works is easy to find. We visited twice as the coffee was excellent. I'm not into all the hype about coffee and rarely visit the chains anywhere in the world but this is a rare and special independent. These guys roast their own coffee... More

Once you have graduated to Havana coffee, every other coffee seems to fade a bit! The smell of the roastery hits you as you walk through the door and you can watch the staff at work before moving into the small cafe. Only a few tables, crowded, but adds to the atmosphere. Decor reflects the Cuban theme, and the staff... More

Well done reproduction of Havana its colours, furniture and people. Happy smiling and hard working. You can see the beans being roasted, there is a tasting room and shop to buy beans as well as a cafe.

A nice little cafe and good strong Havana coffee. Can't complain at all about the coffee, it was great. There are a few cabinet cakes and pies to choose from. Perfect stop for a coffee and cake break.

I'm just over Wellington coffee. They all told me it was awesome and second to Melbourne. No. It more accurately tastes like airport coffee. Overly milky with the only coffee taste coming through being that of earthy mud kind of taste but not in that good Indonesian way. I would sum up Wellington coffee as overwhelmingly robusta beans with a... More

Have heard such good things about this place but a friend and I popped in today for a coffee and a cake and we just didn't quite enjoy it. Coffee was good but we ordered a doughnut to share and it was so dry (for $6 we thought it would be amazing!). The place looks cool but sitting in the... More

I was drawn to this place by the smell of coffee roasting on an early morning walk through Wellington. Great coffee - watch out Melbourne - something the Kiwi's are excelling in!

Tried to go on the Queens birthday, but alas it was closed. Went the next day, and it's well worth the walk. The absolute best flat whites in NZ! If you like coffee at all, make a stop here while in Wellington!
