Nice pleasant looking older building that is well organised for your journey being pretty hassle free, being smaller than most capital cities I think helps a lot.

It's about sixty years since I last was in the Wellington Railway Station, and I found this occasion most pleasurable, with trains easy to locate and a free ride courtesy of Winston Peters!

the place smells of urine and homeless people. not safe, and the landscape looks like a black and white movie from 17th century like the trains you see in movies that the germans were using to move people world war ii. gross place. hand sanitizers a must.

Whether or not you are catching a train (up the Gorge is best) it is a destination in itself. Fantastic architecture.

For an integrated ticketing system, between buses and suburban rail, only some ticket types were available to purchase. No one around to help with directions either. not everyone lives there and knows where they are going.

Staff and train conductors were very helpful and the trains are very clean. We went to the Tawa Outlet Mall which involved going through two long tunnels which was quite interesting.

My wife and I were on a city tour of Wellington and went by the Wellington Railway Station. The exterior of it had a look similar to an
art deco facade. The building was opened in 1937.
