Although these rock carvings are not too historic, they nevertheless are worth viewing from a sail around Lake Taupo. Most of the boat trips leaving from Taupo harbour include a sail past these photogenic rock carvings

Unfortunately, there was only a short time to enjoy this magical place. The waves in the lake were too large for the ship to stay longer at the cliff :(

Something to do on a lazy day. Feel the breeze and view up close and personal with a Moari Carvings on a huge rock. Something you do once and perhaps more than once if you are a local.

We booked online via Sail Barnaby, cheapest among the ones we saw. Plus, they have online promos so we got additional discounts. Always better to book online rather than take a chance that there will be available slots. :D
