We were recommended this park by a Taupo local in the street when we stopped in Taupo for breakfast as we where travelling with our dog and were looking for somewhere to exercise her off leash. It was easy to find, such a lovely walk,...More

Situated in a perfectly crafted reserve, resembling a disused golf course, lie some of the best natural hot springs NZ has to offer. This is an annual tradition for me, and tits year's edition did not disappoint. The water is wonderfully warm, and is it...More

The water was very warm and lovely, however there was a lot of rubbish in the area. It would benefit from toilets, lockers and bins available on the bank. Our car was broken into while parked on Spa Road, there are signs saying that the...More

This thermal park is free!!! I repeat, it's F.R.E.E. So park the car, walk about 2 mins. There is a steep hill (with a walking path that gradually slopes down). Nice little hop and skip down to the spring. Under and around the small waterfall...More

When we arrived, we were a little unsure - the place is a little run down and the owner delightfully whacky! The walk (for $10) was fascinating and worth every dollar. The sights of steam rising from the ground, the colours of the rocks and...More

We visited Spa Thermal Park on a calm, crisp autumn day ready to walk to the Huka Falls and check out the rumours of a free hot pool. Well we didn't make it to the falls but the rumours were true!! A hot creek runs...More
