Staff were lovely, and it's a fairly nice and easy 40min walk and all but I didn't know it costed $8 - my fault for not checking beforehand and unfortunately no student discount. So in my opinion not reeeeally worth stopping by.

I think this is a seasonal attraction; the mud pools were dried out and there was very little steam etc. Not much to see to be honest. Also, a lot of rubbish left around and in the vent holes. This spoils the attraction especially as a lot of the rubbish looks like it's been there a long time.

This is an area where there is concentrated geothermal activity. Hot steam vents in the ground continuously put out steam and other vapors. While this is interesting and cool, I think the admission price is a bit steep. The walk is an in interesting hike and can get a bit challenging when the temperatures are hot but utterly manageable otherwise.... More

The walk is overall way too long for the amount of steam vents you actually get to see. No mud to be seen anywhere, only steam which is not very interesting. Overall we paid $40 for the five people going, all of us agreed that it was a waste of money and a complete load of crap.

There is a lot of geothermal activity here from mud pools to steam coming out of the ground. There is an excellent boardwalk through the park. The colours of the vegetation in the distance were reminiscent of Scotland! There are many scenic views - lots of photos were taken! In comparison to other places we visited, the entrance fee of... We did a 45 mins walk around here and it was an interesting walk We probably picked a good day for it as we had a few showers and not a lot of sun and as it's all open space with no shade we was grateful for it Lots of great pictures to take and if you wanted to you... More

We did not have much expectations but it was quite nice to see all the natural geothermal activity. There were geysers, mud pools and some of the craters were quite large. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

This is interesting and well done ( perhaps even too well), the natural phenomenon are interesting to watch, you learn about chemical reactions. If you are lucky with the weather conditions you may have spectacular colors. For those who have visited Iceland, the volcanic activity is much smaller and restrained, still good to see.

A fantastic experience, walking from the visitor centre down through the craters and around the boiling mud. Walked with a buggy and bad no problems. The colours of the rock were amazing, the smells... eggy... and the steam was amazing!

I don't know if there has been a drought, or the geothermal station is taking too much of the ground water, but this wasn't as spectacular as i remember it from 10 years ago. There's been a lot of work done to upgrade the facilities, with tracks and a decent reception building. Worth a stop if you haven't seen this... More
