A must visit town - great views of snow capped mountains over looking a lake. Cosmopolitan town. Good trout fishing.

I wish we would have had more than an overight here. The sunrise was spectacular, especially with the snow covered mountains to the south. Be sure to stop at the lookout on the right side of the road heading north out of town!

This lake is beautiful to drive around, the town near by has many shops and restaurants.. You can rent a boat or just enjoy a coffee looking at the peaceful lake.

Look across Taupo from the lakefront to the mountains. Another of Taupo's amazing picture postcard natural beauties to admire, photograph and enjoy on your own or with others.
