This is a lovely place to go for a walk just outside the New Plymouth city limits. There are picnic tables at the entrance near the carpark, but unfortunately they do not allow dogs, even on a leash.

An amazing walk in the bush among the Nikau Palms with plenty of signs to explain the trees. The paths are easy walking - a few steeper parts but a great walk.

An easy walk which is not far from the city centre. The name of the reserve is intriguing and the placard at the entry of the reserve is most informative on this

This is a great short walk. I love the nikau palms and all the signage which explains what kind of tree etc you see. Easy walk. great for kids. Not too long and you can choose the 15 minute or 40 minute option.
