Renowned for its rhododendron collection, Pukeiti is a 360 ha rainforest property located between Mount Taranaki and the coast, just south of New Plymouth. Established in 1951, Pukeiti is an internationally recognised garden and plant collection. Owned and managed by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region. Enjoy it - it's yours.

A place and pace for everyone - forget the rhodos just enjoy the experience - plenty of walks all different, some steep some flat, kids hideouts in the trees, lots of seats about, so plenty of choice - a new and very interesting sunken garden...More

honestly if you have the chance to visit these gardens especially during the rhododendron festival it is a must see. these gardens are beautifully maintained and once the new visitor centre is open this will be a first class facility.

There are walks available for all fitness levels I think, we've visited with my elderly in laws many times & the managed very well without missing out on the great views. The kids enjoyed running around discovering new paths... More
