Beautiful, untouched beach

Out of the world, no golden sands but feels very peaceful and energising spot. Very beautiful scenic spot.

This is such a non tourist beach. Lots of people surfing and playing in the sand dunes. Lovely place to walk.

This is a great beach to walk on during low tide. Spectacular rock formations and great view of the Sugarloaf islands. You will also find sand dunes near the parking lot.

Interesting beach - lots of stones, but nice place for a stroll (great for dogs). Probably not the best place for a picnic - a bit wild! but worth a look.

Not a safe place to visit. Too many people have got themselves into danger here. Your car could even be broken into.

One of the nicest places for a walk. Climb up Rock Paratutu and enjoy the run sand dune run afterwards down to Back Beach. Nice spot for photography! Only accessible around low tide

Ever have one of those busy errand filled days that make you long for playful, fun days at the beach? Well as we have learned a quick 20 min stop at back beach and its giant sand dune will cure all longing.
