The modern art was a bit above my level and sometimes hard to understand, however the building design was fantastic with a bold stainless steel exterior and solid concrete interior. I only wish l had a more artistic knowledge !

The exterior of the gallery building is fascinating contemporary architecture and big favourite with curious visitors playing with their reflections as in a carnival house of mirrors. The interior of the gallery leaves a little to be desired. It is surprisingly small - or seems...More

It is a must see for the building exterior, and is of real interest inside to anyone who knows about Len Lye. But it is rather a let down inside in terms of wayfinding, layout, and exhibits. Even so the gift shop deserves special mention...More

New Plymouth is to be congratulated for building this gallery. Len Lye is from New Plymouth and the products of his inventive mind are shown to good effect.

An amazing building. Fun to look at and be in. Some quite good exhibitions. The Len Lye center is in this gallery.

The building could house so much more art work but there is so much wasted space it is unbelievable. My favourite Len Lye Exhibit, The Three Fountains, seems to be hardly ever there much to my diasppointment so I no longer take my visitors there....More

Wonderful building on the outside, great gift shop. But the exhibitions are not extensive enough to be there for very long. Big spaces with little to see was the takeaway.

This gallery was lobbied for by one man and his friends. What a tremendous waste of ratepayers' money - there are only four exhibits and they are rubbish. If the council want more then they have to pay for more 'art' works to be built....More

This is a Gallery not to be missed when visiting New Plymouth. It is in the centre of town and easy to access on foot or by car.
