Very cheap and great for relaxing. Much cheaper than Polynesian spa. It is over the road from Wai-o-Tapu thermal wonderland. Perhaps go the thermal area in the morning and then relax afterwards at the pools?

This is a firm favourite, summer or winter. Water is crystal clear and as hot as you want it - just move closer to where almost-boiling water comes over a little waterfall into the pool. Large cooler pool for children. Nachos and coffee are very goid. Friendly service. Annual pass is great value if you can come more than once... More

Brilliant surreal experience here. The bubbling mud needs to be seen to be believed and definitely a one off! The hot pools are surreal but we had a soak and chatted with other visitors - very social chatting to people from all over the world whilst sitting the bath! I wouldn't recommend this for small children or pregnant ladies as... More

So glad we stopped in here. No crowds, no buses, clean and quite. The water was awesome , and being able to walk along the eco trail to view the water pouring out of the ground was truly amazing. We will be returning to this little gem in the future. I highly recommend visiting this place.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time at Waikite Valley Thermal Pools. I would highly recommend going early at 10:00 when they first open before it gets crowded. Amazing water and scenery. Be sure to take the very short walk to the water source!

My husband will attest this is better than the mega tourist attraction Polynesian Spa. Highly recommend! Best bargain you'll find in this area ---very inexpensive (I think around $20/pp) 25km outside of Rotorua (40min very scenic drive away) Mostly shaded quaint outdoor spa Small, no where massive like the commericalized Polynesian Spa but also then not a tourist trap. Pretty... More

The entry fee was much lower than competitors, and the hot spas were lovely. Some pools had a nice outlook over the nearby river. Not too crowded and had options for both adults and children.
